112 features Quinnes “Q” Parker, Michael Keith, Daron Jones and Mavin “Slim” Scandrick in its lineup. The group initially signed on with the record label Bad Boy Records, through which they were associated with Puff Daddy and the Notorious B.I.G., but later shifted to Def Jam.
The four young artists began their careers by performing at talent shows and local churches as a group called Forte. The group was discovered by Kevin Wales and Courtney Sills, who secured an audition for them at the 112 Club for the owner of Bad Boy Records, Sean “Puffy” Combs. The audition was successful and the group signed with the label. They also changed their name to 112 as homage to the club where they secured they deal.
The group released three albums with the label, 112 (1996), Room 112 (1998) and Part III (2001). All three albums were certified platinum and spawned several hit songs including the Grammy winning "I'll Be Missing You" and the Grammy nominated "Peaches & Cream."
The group eventually moved to Def Jam in 2002 to ensure greater creative control over their work. They released the albums Hot & Wet (2003) and Pleasure & Pain (2005) under the label, both of which did well on the charts.
They are now reuniting with some of their Bad Boy Records mates to pay homage to the late, great Biggy. Catch them live in concert by getting 112 Miami tickets today.
