This has in turn made their music unique as well as diverse, with each album pushing the boundaries of the hard rock genre. All in all they have released eight studio albums to date, of which five have managed to chart in the top twenty five of the Billboard charts and two have been certified platinum. Back in the eighties, when the music industry was still going through a transformative period, a band was formed that would turn every known concept of sound, lyrics and melody on its head. Primus was originally created for its talented members to express themselves through music and they have kept true to that philosophy to this day. Even now it is hard to predict what they are going to do next, but if you are a true fan, you know you would not want to miss out in the end.
Primus was formed in 1984 by Less Claypool (bass) and Todd Huth (guitarist). The band suffered through some hard times and it wasn’t until Larry "Ler" LaLonde (guitars) and Tim "Herb" Alexander (drums) joined that they started getting recognition. By 1989 they had released their first live album, called “Suck on this” and they would go on to release their first studio album, titled “Frizzle Fry” a year later.
Both albums failed to catch the public’s attention, however their 1991 release, called “Sailing the Seas of Cheese” would go on to be certified platinum in the US. All in all they have made eight studio albums to date, of which two have been certified platinum while one recorded gold level sales in the US. Now that they are heading on tour, here is your chance to listen to their best songs for yourself. Just grab your Primus Saint Louis tickets and enjoy their performances, live at the Chaifetz Arena.
