Released in 1988, this album gained Pixies considerable success in both the United States and the United Kingdom. The singles "Sounds" and "Melody Maker" earned them "Album of the Year" award. Surfer Rosa was also the first album of their career that was certified gold. The band has released a total of four studio albums, three EPs, six compilation albums and more than fifteen live albums. "Doolittle" released in 1989 is the bands most influential and successful album which got among the 500 Greatest Album of All Time by Rolling Stones.
