Date & Time
Formed in 1965, the initial band members included Syd Barret, Roger Waters, Richard Wright and Bob Klose. The band released the first single "Arnold Layne," that was followed by their debut album "The Piper at the Gates of Dawn," in 1967. The album was released under the leadership of Syd Barret who led the band towards its early path of psychedelic rock music. Pink Floyd signed with the EMI Label, and toured significantly throughout UK. The album was well received by the critics and set a new wave of psychedelic rock in Europe. In 1968, the band released its second album "A Saucerful of Secretes," that again peaked in the top ten albums in the UK. The second album is the only album in which all the band members contributed including Syd Barret.  After an early departure of Bob Klose, Syd Barret was also officially let go by other band members due to his erratic behavior and significant use of LSD drug. David Gilmore permanently replaced Barret and in 1969, the band scored a soundtrack for the movie "More" and released their third album "Ummagumma." The album peaked at number five in UK and expanded the fan base in Australia, France and US. After the release of another three albums, Pink Floyd released one of its most notable works in 1973 in the form of "The Dark Side of the Moon." The album was a commercial and critical success and peaked at number one position in US, Austria, France and New Zealand, and number two in UK and Australia. The album has been certified fifteen times platinum in US and nine times platinum in UK selling millions of units across the globe. By this time, the band had reached immense popularity throughout the world and it was renowned for its grand and magnificent live acts that captivated audiences and fans. Under this classic line-up, Pink Floyd managed to produce chart topping multi-platinum albums including "Wish You Were Here" (1975), and "Animals" (1977). In 1979, the band produced their most famous concept albums of all times "The Wall," that managed to peak almost everywhere around the world including US. The album has been certified platinum twenty-three times in US alone.  The band members had been facing several conflicts amongst each other, and after the release of their next album "The Final Cut," Roger Water left the band and David Gilmore assumed the leadership role. The band then produced two more studio albums "A Momentary Relapse," 1987 and "The Division Bell" in 1994.

After three decades, Pink Floyd still lives in the hearts of billions around the world and its music stills inspires young musicians. There have been several conflicts amongst band members over creative differences and the band has seen different leadership over the years. However, after several years the living band members including David Gilmore, Roger Waters, and Nick Mason have played together at concerts even after Water’s official departure from the band. Witnessing the band live is still a heavenly experience as it was during the nineties when the band gave electrifying and lively stage performances with multimedia theatrics and innovative acts. Acquiring Pink Floyd tickets will lead the audience to the most memorable musical journey of all times.
