Paul Rodgers is a platinum selling artist who has taught himself to play many musical instruments. He has formed three bands (Free, Bad Company and The firm) and led them to great heights in the music world. He has written, produced, recorded and released 30 albums till now since 1968. He has also earned himself several Grammy nominations. He is called as "The voice" by his fans. In a poll by Rolling Stones Magazine, he is ranked #55 in "The 100 greatest singers of all times". In 1968, Paul Rodgers formed the band "Free" which gained popularity due to its single "All rights now". It was played profusely on the US radio. It was a number one hit in nearly 20 territories. At that time, the band was the highest grossing act but it was unable to sustain its status and disbanded after releasing 4 albums. Paul Rodgers formed another band "Bad company" which enjoyed great success all through the 70’s. Their songs are still popular and are played regularly on all rock radio channels.
Rodgers has played different instruments in different songs. In early 80’s, Rodgers began his solo career. Later on, he grouped with Jimmy Page and formed "The Firm" which was moderately successful. Rodgers continued his solo career side by side. During 1990’s he collaborated with "The Law" and released an album. He was nominated for Grammy Award for his solo album. In 2004, he collaborated with "Queens" and performed on many concerts and tours with them as "Queens + Paul Rodgers". After five years, they both parted ways. In 2010, he rejoined "Bad Company" but still continued his solo career alongside.
Paul Rodgers usually sings in blues rock, blues and hard rock genres of music. He has released six solo albums up till now. His other albums are with the various other bands he has performed with since his early days. His first solo album was "Cut Loose" which received mix reviews. His second album "Muddy Water Blues: A tribute to Muddy Waters" was a great success. It features other artists also besides him. The third album "Now" was released in 1997. He released another solo album in 2000 with the name of "Electric".
