Patrick Norman was born on 10th September, 1946 in Montreal. His musical education started from his home when he was taught by his father how to play the guitar at a very early age. During the time he was learning his traits as a musician he got the chance to perform with renowned names like Andre Rousseau and Roger Lariviere. Working with the duo played a huge part in honing his skills and giving him an insight into how to make it in the business. Patrick Norman first grabbed headlines in the year 1954 when he made his debut on the radio program Decouverte. That one program put him into the limelight for all the right reasons and his wonderful skills put Patrick Norman on the map. He then went on to work with different groups and recorded Je pleure sous la pluie in 1966.
He followed that up with singing at the famous café de l’Est in Montreal. He then went on a major trip across the province that played a big part in taking his popularity to the next level. Patrick Norman then created the soundtrack for the super hit movie Papillon in 1974. That track was recorded in three languages English, Spanish and French. The song became a big hit and Patrick started to be seen more than ever on English Television. As a touring performer, he started to be a constant presence on the touring scene with major performances around Canada. The song Let’s Try Once Again hit the music stores in 1978 and became an instant rage as soon as it came out. The song was released in English and French and it went on grab prominent positions on charts. The song also earned Patrick Norman a Juno Award nomination.
His next hit came in 1984 with Quand on est en amour that became an even bigger sensation. It sold well over two hundred and fifty thousand copies and won Patrick numerous awards and accolades including the Singer of the Year and Song of the Year award at the Metrostar gala. He also won multiple Felix Awards for his efforts. Patrick once again made headlines for the epic L'amour n'a pas d'adfesse that debuted on the thirteenth spot on the Canadians Albums Chart to cement his reputation as an artist for all generations.
