Owl City Tickets

The cushioned ebb & heavy bass flow of synthesizers has added a new dimension to the music of today. Creativity of the lynchpins ruling our most creative entertainment industry never dies down, & these innovations have given new avenues to music enthusiasts. Trance, electronic & synthpop are products of the new cyber-age & in the fierce competition for the title of best exponent, Owl City has emerged as a top contender. Owl City is Adam Young, simply put. The musical genius has mastered the use of many instruments, including guitar, percussion, keyboards, drums & even vocals, & performs exclusively & edits for his one-man band. Owl City tickets have been disappearing off shelves as fans warm to the sound. With a chart-topper under his belt in the shape of “Fireflies” & a couple of successful mainstream albums to kick start his musical career, thing are looking bright for Young & his Owl City project.

Owl City’s musical bubble encompasses the genre of Second Wave synthpop, which first rose to prominence in the late 70s through the 80s. The earlier exponents included Depeche Mode & Erasure, & after the hiatus which lasted the best part of two decades, acts like Owl City, La Roux & Lights have revived the genre in its Second Wave in the past couple of years. Synthpop is a line of New Wave Music that explores synthesizers in its grinding rhythms as the main musical instrument. Owl City has also tried its hand at indietronica, emo-pop dance & alternative music. The project was started by Adam Randall Young, a resident of Owatonna, Minnesota, born in 1986. Young was an insomniac, used to long periods of isolation, & he started working on making music in the basement of his parents’ house to soothe the disorder. Young worked at a Coca-Cola warehouse, & was enchanted by disco & European electronic music. Sky Sailing was his earliest project, a mix of acoustic & synthpop that was later used to release an album called An Airplane Carried Me to Bed. Young uploaded his songs to his MySpace account, & gained widespread recognition there. It was only fitting that cyberspace exposure would become a large part of his cyber-music success. In 2007, following the acclaim he received online, Young produced an EP, Of June, under Owl City. It generated some interest & prompted the release of his debut album Maybe I’m Dreaming in 2008. By this time, Owl City had become big enough to attract the interest of major label Universal Republic, & signed up with them. Ocean Eyes followed in 2009 & was his first project to spawn a number of hits & chart-toppers. Mainstream success has since followed Owl City with a number of tours, soundtrack contributions, & collaborations. Adam Young is also actively involved in various other projects including Port Blue (Ambient & Post-rock), Windsor Airlift (collaborative Post-Rock, Acoustic, Ambient), Aquarium (Ambient, Hip-Hop, Screamo) Blue Dallas (Metal, Screamo, Trance), Dolphin Park (Ambient), The Grizzly(Parody & Comedy), Insect Airport (Ambient & Trance), Keehar (Piano & Trance), Swimming with Dolphins (collaborative Electronica & Ambient, now led by Austin Tofte), Basketball (collaborative Afrobeat, Funk, Turntableism) and The Perfect Theory (collaborative Alternative rock & Emo, now led by Tony and Andy Johnson).

Of June reached #15 on the Billboard Electronic/Dance Albums charts. The EP was Owl City’s first foray, independently produced, although it was later re-released under Universal Republic. The second independent album, Maybe I’m Dreaming, bettered its predecessor by reaching #13. "The Technicolor Phase" was featured in the film Alice in Wonderland, while many tracks, like "The Saltwater Room", highlighted Young’s growing collaborations with Breanne Duren, & later, Matthew Thiessen. Ocean Eyes was an electronic masterpiece, however, topping the Billboard Dance/Electronic, Rock & Alternative Albums charts & peaking at #8 on the Hot 200 list. "Fireflies" topped American & UK charts for two weeks & "Vanilla Twilight" became another major hit.

Owl City's live band consists of Young flanked by Breanne Duren (background vocals/keyboards), Matthew Decker (drums), Laura Musten (violin), and Hannah Schroeder (cello). Owl City tickets are selling out fast for their North American Tour (3rd leg) after having previously performed to packed audiences in 2010’s Winter UK, Australia & New Zealand Tours.

Owl City is a harbinger of the change in musical ethos. Foot-tapping mesmerizing music with adolescent lyrics that represent a running stream of consciousness has won over fans. All & sundry are invited to imbibe the unique atmosphere with the purchase of Owl City tickets.
