Our Lady Peace Tickets

Date & Time

One of Canada’s most successful bands, Our Lady Peace came under the spotlight during the post-grunge era. The band is known for its experimental sound and has released many popular songs like Clumsy and Somewhere both of which topped the charts in Canada. They are now scheduled to play a series of shows in 2018 and if you want to enjoy their concert live then grab a pair of Our Lady Peace tickets now.

Shooting to stardom

In 1991, Mike Turner decided to form a band and placed an ad in a newspaper for band members. Raine Maida was the first one to reply and together they formed the group, As If. The duo later completed the band’s lineup by recruiting Chris Eacrett and Jeremy Taggart. The quartet soon changed the band’s name to Our Lady Peace and then auditioned for Sony Music Canada. The company’s head of A&R Richard Zuckerman was impressed with what these four talented guys had to offer and signed them to the label.

Our Lady Peace then hit the Arnyard Studios where they brought their creative ideas to life and recorded a full-length studio album ‘Naveed.’ It hit the shelves in 1994 and received incredible response in Canada where it went four times platinum. Moreover, the record peaked at the twelfth spot on the Canadian Albums chart. The album however failed to create too much of an impact outside the country.

Three years later, they were asked to join Columbia Records and soon they churned out their second album, ‘Clumsy.’ This became their first album to chart in the United States and achieved platinum status in the country. It also won a Juno Award for the ‘Rock Album of the Year.’

‘Clumsy’ made it to music columnist Bob Mersereau’s list of ‘The Top 100 Canadian Albums’ and featured five singles including the title track which appeared on the soundtrack of the film ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer.’ In addition, the song landed at the first spot on Canada Top Singles. Our Lady Peace’s last album of the decade, ‘Happiness… Is Not a Fish That You Can Catch’ came out in 1999. It received positive reviews from the critics and climbed atop the Canadian Albums chart. The record was supported by a chart-topping single One Man Army and its music video won them two MuchMusic Video Awards.

Refusing to slow down

Our Lady Peace didn’t slow down and teamed up with elite record producers Arnold Lanni and Brendan O’Brien who helped produce their fourth studio album, ‘Spiritual Machines.’ It included fifteen songs and was awarded double platinum certification in Canada. Plus, this studio effort also collected great feedback from both Canadian and American publications as Kerrang! and AllMusic gave it four stars out of five each.

Our Lady Peace then came out with their first album of the 21st century titled, ‘Gravity’ in 2002. The album did not disappoint and won them their second Juno Award in the category of the ‘Rock Album of the Year.’ They released three more studio albums after that. One of those was ‘Healthy in Paranoid Times’ which sold in excess of one million copies in Canada. Their most recent album to date is called, ‘Curve’ which came out in 2012.
