Osvaldo Golijov has composed the soundtrack for Youth Without Youth by Francis Ford Coppola. Three recordings were released by the Kronos Quartet featuring their teamwork with Golijov. Kronos also helped Golijov increase his musical family through alliance with other artists including the Romanian Gypsy band Taraf de Haidouks, tablas virtuoso Zakir Hussain, legendary Argentine composer and the Mexican Rock group Café Tacuba. Golijov takes inspiration from Dawn Upshaw’s voice for the last decade and has also composed countless works for him. In 2000, Golijov's St. Mark Passion premiere was so successful and took the music world by storm.
 
The St. Mark Passion constantly performed all around the world. Golijov has achieved countless commissions from the most important institutions and ensembles in Europe and U.S. He was also honored as the first composer-in-residence at the Mostly Mozart Festival in 2007. He is at present serving as a co-composer-in-residence, at the Chicago Symphony along with Marc-Anthony Turnage. He is not only a keen musician but also a renowned professor teaching his skills to the music lovers. He teaches music at the College of the Holy Cross in Massachusetts. As a musician he was nominated for a Grammy Award for his work in Yiddishbbuk in the year 2002. He has now turned out to be one of the most important figures in modern music by mounting a polystylistic method in his compositions.
