Opry Country Classics Tickets

Attending an Opry Country Classics event is like a family reunion over Thanks Giving dinner. Grand Ole Opry’s most popular event, the Opry Country Classics features a celebrity host, who shares stories and songs with you. Their guests are equally famous, who sing their No.1 hits for you. The fun doesn’t stop there. The guests also perform popular country music songs from Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline. And all of this happens while you are sitting inside Ryman Auditorium and not some superdome.

The Ryman Auditorium can only seat a little over 2,000. Since it has limited seating, get your Opry Country Classics tickets now before they’re all sold out.

Did you know Ryman Auditorium is a designated National Historic landmark! It is in the National Register of Historic Places list since 1971.

A Little about Opry Country Classics

The Opry Country Classic is a two-hour event, which will run from September 21 to October 26, 2017. The event does not take place daily and there is a gap of a few days between the events. The event always start at 7pm, and the venue as mentioned above is Ryman Auditorium.

The host and the guests may perform the same event on multiple evenings though. Since many country music artists will be performing at the Ryman Auditorium, the likelihood of repetition is quite slim.

The Line Up

It is impossible to list the complete lineup of artists for this Fall’s Opry Country Classics, but the following will give you some idea of what to expect.

On October 13, 2017, Crystal Gale, Catie Offerman, Charlie Worsham, Larry Gatlin and others will be performing.

A week after, on October 20, Lorrie Morgan, Larry Gatlin & The Gatlin Brothers, along with other artists will be performing.

On October 27, Pam Tillis, Larry Gatlin & The Gatlin Brothers, Wade Hayes will perform with other artists.

The Biggest News Is…

Reba McEntire will be performing on September 22. Her show remains the highlight of this fall event.

McEntire’s fans would remember that the Oklahoma artist virtually became an overnight sensation with the release of blockbuster singles Somebody Should Leave and How Blue. Called the Queen of Country, 28 of McEntire’s studio albums have been certified gold, platinum or multi-platinum. With global record sales in excess of 85 million, Reba McEntire is one of the best-selling artists of all time.

If you want to see her perform, then Ryman Auditorium is the place and September 22 is the date.

As mentioned earlier, Opry Country Classics is the platform for the most popular country music artists around. Larry Gatlin and his band is one such set of country artists.

Gatlin and his band shot to fame in the 1970s and 1980s. His hits, Houston (Means I’m One Day Closer to You), All the Gold in California and Broken Lady still get decent airtime.

Known for his rich falsetto style and incorporating pop tunes into country, Larry Gatlin & the Gatlin Brothers can be seen live on stage at the Ryman Auditorium. This band once beat the legendary Roy Orbison in a local talent contest. This of course happened way back when both acts were virtually unknown.

Patsy Cline and Johnny Cash

It is traditional for artists to sing Patsy Cline and Johnny Cash songs at the Opry Country Classics. While it is hard to emulate the bold contralto voice of Cline, many talented artists since her untimely death have paid tribute to her by singing some of her timeless classics Crazy, I Fall to Pieces, She’s Got You, Faded Love and He Called Me Baby.

Copying Johnny Cash’s deep, calm bass-baritone voice, too, has been a challenge for many, but this hasn’t stopped some of the finest country music stars to sing I Walk the Line, Folsom Prison Blues, Ring of Fire, Hurt and Sunday Morning Coming Down.
