Olga has to her credit to have won the first competition at the age of eleven. It was the performance of Mendelssohn's music and was greatly appreciated. Making a name internationally she came home winning eleven competitions and was awarded an honorary scholarship from the President of Russia, Boris Yeltsin.
The major breakthrough for Olga Kern came in 2001. It was the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition held at Fort Worth, TX. Olga shined at the competition when she performed Liszt's Don Juan Fantasy. Her exceptional performance won her the first prize making her the first woman in more than 30 years of history of the event to have achieved it.
The accomplishment opened new paths for her. When she performed at the Carnegie Hall in 2004 for the first time she had the audiences enthralled with her music magnificence and won rave reviews. She launched her series of US tours winning fans everywhere she performed. Apart from US, Olga has given successful performances in Russia, Europe and all over the world.
