Born in a musically gifted family, it was inevitable for Norah Jones to be inclined towards music, but her success till date remains quite unique. Daughter of the renowned Indian Sitar player and musician Ravi Shankar, Geethali Norah Jones Shankar grew up listening to her father’s stories of the classic 60s era. As a child Norah Jones was a part of church choir and later in high school she joined a band. Her talent was discovered when she was providing backing vocals for the country and folk musician, Victoria Williams.
