The New West Symphony was created in 1995. The Conejo Symphony Orchestra and the Ventur County Symphony has their operations ceased, hence the New West was founded. Boris Brott was the founding music director of the company. Brott was acclaimed for programming intense symphonic works in the 19th and 20th century. In 2008, the company faced financial issues; however the musicians who were a part of the company initiated pay cuts to help the company survive. When the 2011-2012 season came by, the company was on a look-out for a fresh artistic director after Brott resigned from his post. Finally in May in 2012, the company made an announcement in the media that it was appointing Marcelo Lehninger as their new artistic director. In 2010, for Andrea Brocelli, the orchestra served as a brilliant touring orchestra. It also successfully completed its third tour the same year.
There is absolutely no uncertainty in the fact that the New West Symphony provides one of the most engaging and charming experiences to its audience. The 2013-2014 season of the orchestra featured guest artists like Andrew von Oeyen the pianist, Sarah Chang the violinist and Cristina Ortiz the pianist. The orchestra that is in the supreme leadership of Marcelo Lehninger will be teaming up with other chorale’s also and present Beethoven’s timeless Fifth Symphony.
Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony was written during 1804 till 1808. In modern day music, it is considered to be among the most popular and surely the best created compositions in classical music. Moreover, this symphony is regularly played. The first time that the symphony was performed was in 1808 in Vienna’s Theater an der Wien. Soon after its premier, the work received impressive reputation. The famous four note beginning of the symphony is its most distinctive characteristic. The four note motif or start of the symphony is famed all over the world as it has also been featured in the present day pop culture, rock and roll, disco and also appeared in movies and television shows. When Beethoven created this symphony he was already in his mid-thirties and his personal life was quite troubled as he was facing complete deafness. The world around him was going through a series of Napoleonic Wars, along with political mayhem in Austria and the taking over of Vienna in 1805 by Napoleon’s troops. The symphony does an incredible job in describing these ambiguities surrounding Beethoven in the Fifth Symphony.
