Farm Aid Hits 30-Year Mark - Neil Young, Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp & Dave Matthews Band to Headline
Farm Aid is coming to Chicago! 30th anniversary celebrations will kick off on September 19 at the FirstMerit Bank Pavilion and an eclectic lineup has been put in place. Besides the event regulars - Young, Nelson and Mellencamp – Dave Mathews Band, Imagine Dragons, Old Crow Medicine Show, Jack Johnson, Kacey Musgraves and Holly Williams are also set to feature. Neil Young Chicago tickets holders will also get to enjoy performances by Mavis Staples, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, Blackwood Quartet and Insects vs. Robots.
The all-day music festival also includes food stalls and the attendees get to meet farmers, engage in different activities and learn more about farming in general. Festivities start early on as multiple stages are set for the performers and it’s a musical extravaganza all around. Nelson opens the event with his comments and Lord’s Prayer, after which one band after the other takes the stage.
