Nazareth has established their international audience with their album Hair of the Dog which was released in 1975. Nazareth covered a single Java Blues which was by their own band's singer/ bassist Rick Danko, on their live album Snaz which was released in 1981, along with Emmett Grogan.

In 1970, Nazareth migrated to London and release their debut album Eponymous in 1971. After attaining considerable notice in 1972 through their 2nd album Exercises, the band did a tour with Deep Purple in early 1973 released the Roger Glover’s produced Razamanaz. This compilation has spawned two United Kingdom Top 10 hits like Bad Bad Boy and Broken Down Angel. After that in 1973, this work they released Loud 'N' Proud which had one more famous song This Flight Tonight the song was a Joni Mitchell’s rocking cover. In 1974, the band came up with another successful album Rampant which got an equal publicity. This famous musical band sang another non-album cover song of Tomorrow which was titled as My White Bicycle. In 1975 the single got position in the UK Top Twenty.

In April 1975, the band released another album Hair of the Dog. The famous main number of this album was Son Of A Bitch which became a most acclaimed song of rock radio in 1970s. The US edition of the album had the song Love Hurts, the song was a recording by The Everly Brother and Roy Orbison had also done a cover of it. This single also went a hit one in the United Kingdom and United States. The single also went platinum in both the countries. This single turned out to be the Nazareth’s only American Top 10 hit. Also on the Norwegian chart the song enjoyed record breaking sixty weeks. In 1979, Zal Cleminson joined the band as a second guitarist. For Heavy Metal, which was a hit film, Nazareth contributed their song Crazy in 1981. Moving forward towards their way of success, Nazareth became very famous across Europe, especially in Germany. Their single Dream On turned out to be a hit number in Germany.

After Manny Charlton set off to establish a solo career Billy Rankin joined the band once again to rock Nazareth’s fame in 1991 for their album No Jive. Over the years with their great work and sizzling songs, Nazareth has developed a very strong and loyal fan following. In 1994, Rankin left the group again but with the talents of the Jimmy Murrison and skills of Ronnie Leahy, the band made enthusiastic live shows all over the Europe and America. After the death of Darrell Sweet in 1999, the group got Lee as his replacement, who was the son of Pete Agnew. Nazareth enjoyed their 40th anniversary in February of 2008, with the release of their album The Newz on Edel Entertainment. They also toured Sweden and Europe and Norway at the same time.
