Born on March 16 in the year 1978, Nick Carter aka Murs came forward on the musical scene with his strong ability as a rapper in 1993 while releasing his first single.  Murs name suggests that it is an abbreviation of multiple meaning words; such as ‘Making the Universe Recognize and Submit’ or ‘Making Underground raw Shit’, suggested by Nick himself. In his career path he has made his way through by working on multiple projects with multiple artists. He record labels he has work with so far are Warner Bros. Records, Definitive Jux, Record Collection and Rhymesavers Entertainment.

Initially Murs started his career in a group called 3 Melancholy Gypsies aka 3MG an American hip hop group from the similar origin of Murs that is Los Angeles, California, United States. The band comprising of three members; Eligh, Murs and Scarub was formed in the year 1992 when they met at Hamilton High school. Soon they were included in Log Cabin Crew, with whom they worked with until the later disbanded.  They reunited in 1995 in Oakland where they found a chance to be part of Living Legends after creating a strong bond with Mystik Journeymen after a year.

The Living Legend is comprised of eight members belonging to the hip hop genre of music; Sunspot Jonz, Luckyiam. PCS, The Grouch, Murs, Scarub, Eligh, Bicasso and Aesop. They became a huge success on the history of indie-rap movement as they produced their own albums and solos and were able to sell almost 300,000 copies of their various works.  The singles the released so far are ‘Never Falling Down’, ‘Gotta Question For Ya’, ‘Damn It Feels Good’, ‘Awakening’, ‘Blast Your Radio’, ‘Down for Nothing’ and ‘She Wants Me’. These singles were accompanied by the albums like ‘UBH I’, ‘UBH II’, ‘UBH III: Against All Odds’, ‘UBH IV; Stop & Retaliate’, ‘The Underworld, Angelz Wit Dirty Faces’, ‘Almost Famous’, ‘Crappy Old Shit’, ‘Creative Differences’, ‘Classic, Legendary Music: Volume 1’, ‘Almost Famous: Re-Release’ and ‘The Gathering’.

As Murs worked on various projects where he collaborated with different artists and bands one of it was his union with Slug to made ‘Felt’. All of Felt’s albums were named after actresses such as Christina Ricci, Lisa Bonet & Rosie Perez. They released three albums for their listeners. Apart of Felt Murs worked with Anacron on ‘The Netherworlds’, with 3MG fellows and Basik MC ‘The Righteous Brothers Project’ and ‘The Invincible(s)’ a hip hop rock group formed with Whole Wheat Bread.

The solo albums he has released so far are ‘F’Real’ in 1997, ‘Good Music’ in 1999, ‘Murs Rules the World’ in 2000, ‘Murs Is My Best Friend’ in 2001, ‘The End of the Beginning’ in 2003 and ‘Murs for President’ in 2008. The collaborative albums are ‘Pals’ in 2001, ‘Murs 3:16: The 9th Edition’ in 2004, ‘Murray’s Revenge’ in 2006, ‘Sweet Lord’ in 2008 and ‘Fornever’ in the year 2010. His singles include ‘Def Cover’, ‘God’s Work’, ‘Risky Business’ / ‘Brotherly Love’, ‘H-U-S-T-L-E’ / ‘Bartender’, ‘Better Than the Best’, ‘Can It Be (Half a Million Dollar and 18 Months Later)’,’ Me and This Jawn’ and ‘Time Is Now’.

His DVDs include ‘MC*TV *Mass Chaos (1998) LLCrew’, ‘Walk Like a Man (2005) Legendary Music’ and ‘Murray's Revenge: The DVD (2007) Record Collection. Owing to his efforts and passion to the world of rap he has captured many hearts. His songs has inspired the youngsters to an extent that some of them were included in certain video games, like his song ‘L.A.’ from his album Murray's Revenge, was used on the soundtrack of the E.A. video game NBA Live 2007,  his song ‘Dreadlocks’ was in the EA Sports NFL Football game Madden NFL 08, his song ‘Lookin Fly’ was placed in Midnight Club LA, his song ‘SWC’ was featured in WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2009 and finally his song ‘DJ Hero’ featuring Z-Trip can be heard in DJ Hero against Foreigner's "Jukebox Hero".
