The Latin music prodigy scored his first hit on the Billboard albums chart with his 2002 album Sereno. The album ranked modestly on the Top Latin Albums chart and was easily surpassed by its successors.
Papito, which was released in 2007, became a commercial and critical hit, ranking at number two on the Latin Pop Albums chart. The album featured his hit songs as duets with leading names in the Latin music industry at the time, including Shakira, Laura Pausini and Ricky Martin.
Taking the album on the road resulted in the live album Papitour, which was followed two years later by a successful Latin pop album, Cardio. 2012 saw the artist release another popular album that ranked at second place on the Latin Pop Albums chart and spawned the hit singles “Amor del bueno” and “Aire Soy.” His most recent effort, Amo, was released in 2014 and is soon to be followed by an album promotion tour.
In 2013, Miguel earned the prestigious “Person of the Year” Latin Grammy Award, which honored his music career. He had previously won the Latin Grammy Award for “Best Male Pop Performance” in 2002.
