Metallica Miami Gardens Tickets

One of the biggest bands on the planet, Metallica brought thrash metal to the mainstream and literally changed the landscape of American music. Known as one of the “Big Four” of thrash metal, the band popularized fast aggressive tempos, harmonized leads and melodic breakdowns. When they played fast, they were the fastest and when they played heavy, they produced the heaviest sound. The metal gods are now setting off on tour to support their latest album, Hardwired…To Self Destruct, and their next stop is Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium. Metallica was formed in 1981 by drummer Lars Ulrich and guitarist/vocalist James Hetfield. The duo was joined later by guitarist Kirk Hammett and the three have remained constant throughout the band’s various lineup changes. The band’s current bassist is Robert Trujillo.

The band’s discography includes ten studio albums, five EPs, six live albums and ten video albums. Their debut album, Kill Em’ All came out in 1983, while their latest album, Hardwired…To Self Destruct came out in late 2016.

The band’s most famous album is their third record, Master of Puppets, which many have called as the greatest metal album in history. The album’s title track is a staple of the band’s live performances, while other songs from it, like “Battery”, “Welcome Home (Sanitarium)” and “Orion” are classics.

The band moved away from their thrash roots with 1991’s Metallica (or the Black Album, as it is referred to). The album was their first number one on the Billboard 200 and spawned several hits including “Enter Sandman”, “Nothing Else Matters” and “Sad But True”.

Some hardcore fans have accused the band of selling out and going mainstream to earn more money, but the band had every right to branch out artistically and explore their musical boundaries. The success of their subsequent albums and the band’s relevance to this day are a testament to the band’s popularity.

WorldWired Tour

The band is currently on their WorldWired tour to support their latest album, Hardwired…To Self Destruct. The band will be supported by fellow metal acts Avenged Sevenfold and Volbeat on their North American leg.
