There was a time when, with only a little talent and a little bit of luck, a person could achieve anything. However it is getting increasingly harder to do that in today’s fast paced and competitive world. The level of competition has gone through the roof and people need to stand out from the crowd if they hope to achieve anything in life. The music industry in particular has changed quite a lot over the years and it takes quite a lot more than just a good voice or technical ability to make a name for yourself now.

A lot of these changes have come about due to the increasing popularity of the internet, as well as the advent of televised musical competitions. These avenues have made it possible for upcoming talents to get direct access to the general public.

The molding begins

One person that has used the modern day technological evolution to great advantage is the remarkable Melanie Martinez. After appearing on the popular television program called ‘The Voice,’ she has gone on to release multiple hit singles and you can catch her in concert as well, if you want. Just book your Melanie Martinez tickets and enjoy the show, live from the stands.

Martinez was born in 1995 to very supportive parents that encouraged her forays into music. She grew up listening to her father’s old hip hop collection, but soon found her interest being diverted to pop and folk music. The mixture of these two completely different genres added a degree of unpredictability to her sound and went on to shape her musical direction.

At the age of fourteen, she decided she wanted to learn to play the guitar. However her parents could not afford to hire a teacher or send her to a preparatory school. Instead Martinez had to learn the instrument herself and eventually became so good that she decided to audition for the televised singing competition known as ‘The Voice’ at just the age of seventeen.

Beginning to take shape

It was during season three that Martinez first auditioned for ‘The Voice.’ She sang a cover of the popular Britney Spears song “toxic” and managed to grab the attention of three of the four judges. After considering her options, she finally decided to join the team of Adam Levine, the lead singer of pop band Maroon 5 and move on to the next round.

Over the next few weeks, Martinez progressed through the various rounds, giving several memorable performances along the way. Her cover of the White Stripes song “Seven Nation Army” during the top ten round and the Alex Care song “Too Close” during the top eight round even managed to go all the way into the top ten of the iTunes Top 200 Singles Chart. However it was not meant to last, as she was eliminated in the top six round to the disappointment of her fans, family and friends.

The final product

Martinez’s stint on ‘The Voice’ had provided her with the opportunity she needed to carve out a career for herself in the music industry. So she started working on original material and after a lot of hard work, released her debut single “Dollhouse” in 2014. The song was certified gold in the US and paved the way for her to release her debut EP of the same name, later that year. The album made it to number four on the US Heat seekers music charts and amazed audiences everywhere.

Martinez released her debut album, “Cry Baby” in 2015 and as expected, it managed to do quite well all around the world. It made it into the top ten of the US and Canadian music charts, while it also charted in the top fifty of the music charts of Australia and the UK.

This young star is now on tour. If you want to listen to some of her best compositions to date, then you can when she hits an arena near you. Just book your Melanie Martinez tickets and enjoy her show, live from the stands.
