Maze & Frankie Beverly enjoys a sound reputation and fan base in the R&B and soul music scene. The group was formed back in the 1976 in San Francisco as merely a project that was known as the Butlers. But over the years with their series of hit singles and album, the group has grown on to be a lot more than just a project. The album turned out to be the first Gold record for the group, spawning hits like While Im Alone, Lady of Magic and Happy Feelin’s. With these hit singles, the group managed to attain a sound fan base. Maze & Frankie Beverly enjoyed even more success with the release of their successive albums titled Golden Time of Day, Inspiration and Joy & Pain.
 
The group kept its tradition of giving out hit singles with the release of their follow up album, Live in New Orleans. The album was recorded in 1980 at Saenger Theatre and featured hit songs like We Need Love to Live, Before I Let you Go and Running Away. With this growing amount of success coming towards them, Maze started getting attention in United Kingdom as well, apart from United States. During their tour in United Kingdom, all of the Maze & Frankie Beverly tickets were sold out for eight straight nights of their performances at the Hammersmith Odeon.
 
In March 1985, the group gave out its first number one hit single titled Back in Stride, which was released on their album called Can’t Stop the Love. In addition to that, the album also featured another top five hit singles Too Many Games. The group’s second number one hit single was Can’t Get Over You, which was released after they signed up with the Warner Bros in 1989. They initially released Silky Soul, which turned out to be one of their most successful albums. Silky Soul was then followed by Back to Basics and a Live DVD. Both of these studio releases received certified Gold Status.
 
For their outstanding work in the field of music, the group currently enjoys remarkable reputation in the music circle as well. In 2009, a tribute album was also released that featured various renowned artists performing the hits of the band. Till date, the group continues to perform live in United Kingdom and United States from time to time. And currently they’re scheduled to perform live yet again.
