Matchbox Twenty are about to take to the road once again this summer. They will be joined by Counting Crows for some dates and one of those shows sees them perform at the Blossom Music Center.
Matchbox Twenty was formed in the year 1995 when Paul Douchette, Brian Yale and Rob Thomas, members of Tabitha’s Secret, decided to form their own group. They were joined by John Goff, Jay Stanley, Kyle Cook and Adam Gaynor to complete the first line-up of the group. They began to turn a few heads and their performances landed them a recording contract with Atlantic Records soon afterwards.
First album and onwards
Matchbox Twenty came out with “Yourself or Someone Like You,” their first album in 1996. The album turned out to be a huge success that spawned a lot of hit tracks. Not only that, but it also went on to sell in excess of a whopping twelve million copies to be certified diamond in the US.
Their next two albums “Mad Season” and “More Than You Think You Are’ went quadruple platinum and double platinum respectively. Matchbox Twenty then went on a hiatus between 2004 and 2007.
After a brief stint, the band took a break once again before coming back in 2010. They released “North” in 2012 and it went gold in the US and platinum in Australia. The People’s Choice Award winners and four time Grammy nominees are now going tour. Grab your Matchbox Twenty Cuyahoga Falls tickets and watch them live in concert.
