Date & Time
Kearney grew up in Eugene, Oregon listening to music from the likes of Bob Dylan and A Tribe Called Quest. Later on, Kearney went on to study literature at California State University, where he started playing guitar for the first time. Kearney started playing his roommate’s guitar, and began covering other famous songs of that time. After he discovered that he is not that good enough at guitar playing to be covering songs, so he decided to write his own material. Soon after experimenting with his newly started hobby, Kearney started playing at local coffee shops and bars, and started making some money off it as well. Later he met and became friends with Robert Marvin and started making music with him. Marvin would later go on to become Kearney’s producer in future. After sometime, Marvin had to move to Nashville and he asked for Kearney’s help in relocating to Nashville. As the two reached there, Kearney decided to stay in Nashville and record few demos. After making that decision, Kearney stayed in Nashville for a couple of months until he finally decided not to go back to Eugene at all and he has been living in Nashville since then.
