The Steamroller in Bakersfield
December 2017 will see the return of this beloved Christmas tribute act to Bakersfield. Recently, Chip Davis has added an orchestra to the band as well, which has taken the show to an all-new scale. Its tunes are grander than before and the production value has been upped to match this grandeur. Multimedia effects and choreographed ice-skating performances are added to the show as well, which have resonated well with audiences in the past. Mannheim Steamroller’s holiday music is more than just a live performance of its albums; it is constantly revamped, occasionally improvised on-stage, and given a fusion of genres. The band also experiments with non-traditional musical genres and creates new Christmas traditions altogether. Bakersfield is one of the Grammy-winning act’s frequented destinations, and Mannheim Steamroller Bakersfield tickets are available for 2017’s holiday season as well.
About Mannheim Steamroller
Chip Davis stumbled upon Mannheim Steamroller completely by accident. After receiving little encouragement from the 1980’s music industry as a solo act, the gifted composer began his independent music label, American Gramaphone. Then, he launched a solo Christmas album, under the pseudonym “Mannheim Steamroller”, tricking the public and critics into thinking it was a band’s name. It worked, and the record too was a hit. This provided Davis with the encouragement, and he became inspired by Christmas music as well, launching the Mannheim Steamroller Christmas tours by the end of 1984. The rest, as we all know it, is history (in the making).
