Unmoved by logic and reason, Butterfly waits to see Pinkerton returning with an American wife. Butterfly’s true love moves Pinkerton to owe her an apology. She is heartbroken, commits suicide and returns Pinkerton’s son, abandoning him forever. This moving story has captivated audiences for more than a century.
