He is also the lead vocalist and on accordion as well. Next we have Hernan Hernandez on vocals and electric bass. On saxophone, vocals, accordion and bajo sexto we have Eduardo Hernández. Drumming is the responsibility of Oscar Lara. The fifth member of the band Luis Hernández is a vocalist and plays the bajo sexto.
 
Their moniker dates back to their history, when they were crossing the borders and heading for San Jose. An immigration officer named them, “Little Tigers” which became their band’s name. They achieved breakthrough success with their hit single “Contrabando y Traición." Following the band’s typical style this single is also a corrido, which is an age old style where the sing is almost like a narration. The style was prevalent during the Mestizo cultural area of North America. The corrido is a modern corrido as it talks about two lovers trafficking marijuana across the border, hiding it is the tires of their car.
 
Another one of their most notable corridos is "Jaula de Oro," which is an example of Corridos Prohibidos, relating to immigration. Their efforts were very much recognized by the industry and the music critics at large which is why they were bestowed with the initial Grammy Award for Best Mexican-American Performance, for Gracias America...Sin Fronteras.
