Born in Tucson, Arizona and growing up in Garrison, Minnesota did not give a lot of chances to Linda for singing. But a talent like her could not be repressed and Linda covered a journey of an audience of perhaps barn animals on the farm to performing in front of jam-packed Carnegie Hall in a matter of years. Linda possessed multiple talents. She wanted to be a painter but her choir teacher in high school made her recognize that she can do great things with her voice. She started her music career as a part of a duo and then in a Las Vegas casino where her talents were recognized by people who had an eye for it.
She competed on Star Search and after staying undefeated for eleven weeks; she won the grand prize and found herself a generous fan base. A phone call followed her success which led her to New York. There she was approached for Jekyll & Hyde, her breakthrough. Confident, Linda Eder decided to go solo. From the period of 1991 to 2009, eleven albums came out and she started performing in over 50 concerts annually. Linda’s 2009 album Soundtrack had a wonderful arrangement and had rich orchestration. This album turned out to be a magnificent one and is counted among the best movie inspired compilation albums ever.
Linda recorded with Wildhorn again after seven years although she was offered to do so several times before. The 2011 album was titled Now, something that Linda could relate to on a personal level. Like all of her albums, this album was also compiled with the help of amazing lyricists except this time compositions were given by Wildhorn. And Linda turned these words into another one of her theatrical beauties embracing a soaring dramatic feel. Fans of both Linda and Wildhorn were excited at this collaboration after a long time.
Every year since her fame on Jekyll & Hyde, Linda Eder has only climbed higher up the ladder of success. It was her vocal talents that led her on great many musical adventures - she enjoyed and nailed each one. She was a part of the twosome with Michael Feinstein which was a long-running project. She has performed with Marvin Hamlish and has also been invited to sing National Anthem in baseball games. She has also appeared on the set of Rosie O’Donnell’s show. Growing up on a farm, Linda has a natural love for animals, especially horses. She has also been engaged in various philanthropic projects to work for the betterment of animals.
Linda’s voice is said to resemble those of Barbara Streisand, Judy Garland and Celine Dion. With singles like "A Little Bit of Heaven", "Never Dance", "Something to Believe In" and "The Other Side of Me", Linda Eder proved that fame does not only mean being the highlight of media but the place an artist can have in the hearts of his fans. That is why Linda Eder tickets are always a commodity which is a matter of coming in the inventories and selling out.
