The song also headlined her first big label album which was also titled Blue. The album broke SoundScan first week sales record by going on to sell a staggering one hundred and twenty three thousand copies. Not only that but the album also went to the pinnacle on country charts and went as high as the third spot on the Billboard 200. Blue sold a whooping four million copies in the U.S. alone and twice as many worldwide to turn Leann into a superstar overnight. The success earned her multiple awards including a CMA awards and two Grammys to become the youngest ever artist to win a Grammy.
 
She followed that up with You Light Up My Life: Inspirational Songs in 1997. It turned out to be another huge hit that sold well in excess of four million copies to earn four times platinum status from RIAA. The album also had a song How Do I Live that stayed on the Billboard Hot 100 for an astonishing sixty nine weeks to create a new record. Next year witnessed the release of her next album titled Sittin’ on Top of the World. The album also crossed the million mark in sales to earn platinum status. Leann’s next album was a self-titled one that kept with the trend and sold over a million copies.
 
The arrival of the new decade saw her switch over to pop by recording the soundtrack of the movie Jesus. The effort received overwhelming support from fans and critics alike. Her next album for Curb was a compilation titled I Need You that went gold. In 2002 she released Twisted Angel and just like I Need You it went gold as well. Leann Rimes then released a collection of her greatest hits which sold in excess of a million copies to be certified platinum. This Woman hit the music stores in 2005 and proceeded to sell over one hundred thousand copies in the first week alone and eventually ended up earning gold status from the RIAA. Her next album was titled Family which also received a lot of positive response from critics as did her 2010 release Lady & Gentlemen.
 
 Leanne has been a revelation. From making her debut with Blues to become the youngest ever country music artist since 1972 to becoming a superstar, she certainly has come a long way. Her list of awards include CMA, ACMs, Billboard Music Awards, AMAs and last but not the least Grammys to solidify her status as one of country music’s shinning lights.
