Whitney is also a philanthropist. In September of 2010, he donated around $5 million for sick children to Arnold Palmer Hospital in Florida. He also contributed theatrical equipment for a high school in his hometown, Nebraska. He married Cara Whitney in 2005 and has one son and a daughter.
