The Kitchener Waterloo Symphony belongs to the twin cities of Waterloo and Kitchener, in Ontario, Canada. The home venue of the band is located in Kitchener, and is named Centre In The Square. Some of the most significant musicians of the Kitchener Waterloo Symphony are part of the CCE (Canadian Chamber Ensemble). The Canadian Chamber Ensemble has gone on various tours all over the country as well as in other parts of the world such as South America, the United States, and Europe. The Ensemble was established by Raffi Armenian, who was the conductor of the group.

The Kitchener Waterloo Symphony orchestra plays numerous instruments such as bass, the cello, viola, two violins, percussion, tuba, trombone, two trumpets, two horns, bassoon, clarinet, oboe, and a flute. The Canadian Chamber Ensemble was the first main orchestra from Canada that performed in the East side of Europe following the Berlin wall's fall. The group has worked under the leadership of countless extremely talented Principal Conductors and Music Directors over the course of their history. Some of them have included big names such as Martin Fischer Diekau, Chosei Komatsu, and Raffi Armenian. Their current Music Director is the famous Edwin Outwater, with Brian Jackson being their current Principal Pops Conductor.

The Kitchener Waterloo Symphony is made up of fifty two enormously talented professional musicians. All of them are working under a full time contract. The group gives almost ninety performances during a season of thirty eight weeks for a combined show audience of more than ninety thousand people. Their music also makes regular appearances all over the country on Radio Two by CBC. Fourteen recordings of the band along with the Canadian Chamber Ensemble have been produced by CBC Records alongside acclaimed solo performers.

One of the recordings of the Canadian Chamber Ensemble with CBC Records went on to receive a nomination at the Juno Awards. It was titled Chants d'Auvergne and was released in the year 2002 and included soprano Karin Gauvin. The Kitchener Waterloo Symphony owes a lot of their national fame and growth to Raffi Armenian, who worked as their Music Director from the years 1971 to 93. He also played a significant role in building their home venue, Centre In The Square. In addition to creating music and performing all over the world on tours, the Kitchener Waterloo Symphony also works to design specific community and education outreach programs in order to maintain themselves as the musical resource to their country. These programs reach to people of all age groups and communities.
