Kid Cudi, born as Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi in 1984, is a well known American rapper, actor and singer. His shot at fame came after he released his first mixtape, A Kid Named Cudi and since then he has released highly successful songs. 2009 saw his single Day ‘n’ Nite ranking fifth on the Billboard Hot 100, an incredible feat for a relatively new artist. He has collaborated with some of the greatest musicians of our time including David Guetta, Common and even the fabled Kanye West. This single was part of his debut album, Man on the Moon: The End of Day released through the label GOOD Music.
 
Born in the Ohio city of Cleveland, he is the son of a World War II veteran and a teacher. He studied at the Shaker Heights High School and Solon High School from which he graduated with his GED. He also partly studied at the University of Toledo with the subject being film but dropped out a year later. He first began performing music while in high school after being inspired by hip hop outfits like A Tribe Called Quest and The Pharcyde. It was for music that he made the move to Brooklyn within America’s greatest city, New York and it was here that he released his first compilation, his first mixtape.
 
A Kid Named Cudi was released by the streetwear brand 10.Deep as a free download and this led to popularity for Kid Cudi. It was this mixtape that attracted Kanye West who then signed Kid Cudi to his GOOD Music label in 2008, mere months after the release of Kid Cudi’s first mixtape. After being singed onto GOOD Music, Kid Cudi worked on the Kanye West album, 808s & Heartbreak, released in 2008. After the release of this album featuring Kid Cudi, he immediately became a sensation and was reviewed in the best of publications within music. Even MTV News featured him on their MC’s To Watch In 2009; such was his music that many were left breathless.
 
Kid Cudi first appeared on TV in a performance as part of the MTV Video Music Awards in 2008 in which he performed with Travis Barker and well known DJ AM. The next year, he perfomed his popular hit single, Day ‘n’ Nite on the MTV talk show, Dogg After Dark, hosted by none other than icon Snoop Dogg. Soon after, two days later, he performed on the BET 106 & Park as a debut for the music video of Day ‘n’ Nite and a day later saw Kid Cudi performing three of his songs on the NBC show, Last Call with Carson Daly. In short, appearances of three of the best TV shows successively with hardly one day gaps between them is sufficient proof of the brilliance of this new artist, part of the new generation, and worth seeing for yourself live what it is that makes him so different and unique, through Kid Cudi tickets.

Day ‘n’ Nite was part of this album and so was the song Make Her Say, which had samples from the Lady Gaga song, Poker Face, and performances by both Common and Kanye West. His song Sky Might Fall is part of the third installment in the Transformers series, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and also created a song titled as Switchin Lanes for the soundtrack of the game, Midnight Club: Los Angeles. Kid Cudi has won three Grammy Award nominations, one MTV Video Music Award and an Urban Music Award.
