Born in New Zealand, Keith Urban is a country pop music artish who was raised in Australia. He has been active in the musical scene since 1990 and released his debut, a self-titled album in 1991 which produced four chart topping singles in Australia. With this band, he recorded one studio album which was released on Capitol Records, with two singles charted on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

The single "But for the Grace of God" was his first number one Hot Country Song. He got the Academy of Country Music Award 2001 for being the top new male vocalist and also the Horizon Award 2001 by the Country Music Association.
His second album to be released with the Capitol records in 2002 was the "Golden Road." The billboard declared it to be the biggest hit in the country music scene of 2000-2001. Six out of the thirteen songs from this album were co-produced by Dann Huff, the former member of Giant and White Heart. The single "Somebody Like You" remained at number one for six weeks, leading another single "Raining on Sunday" which was on number three. Another number one single from the same album was "You’ll Think of Me" which earned Urban his first Grammy Award in the category of Best Male Country Vocal Performance.
In 2004, his third studio album "Be Here" was released which produced three number one singles. The album was four times Platinum certified, becoming the highest selling album of Urban. In 2006, he released "Love, Pain and the Whole Crazy Thing." Two hit singles from this album included "Once in a Lifetime" and "Stupid Boy," which earned him his second Grammy Award. The next two albums, "Defying Gravity" and "Get Closer" came in 2009 and 2010.
