Jam session with musicians like Big Joe Turner and Albert Collins groomed him further as a musician and perfected his skill as a blues musician before he came out with his self titled debut album in the mid nineties. It featured the artist’s original melodies and also the cover songs of Robert Johnson such as ‘Kind Hearted Woman Blues’ and ‘In My Kitchen’ among others. Getting a positive response from the audience encouraged him to continue making music to get all the recognition that he deserved. Keb Mo has released 13 albums so far with ‘Reflection’ being the latest one. It has just been a year since his music came out but it has already made its way to the Grammy Award nominations and the count of awards has reached to four.
 
Keb Mo makes use of a variety of guitars while composing music. These include resonator guitars, electric and acoustic guitars. This is one of the instruments he became friends with while he was very young, before even joining the bands in the start of his professional musical career. The artist for his efforts and hard work has not only been rewarded by the music industry with three Grammy Awards in the category of ‘Contemporary Blues Album’ but also with Orville Gibson Award and a number of WC Handy Blues Awards. Apart from this, he also got inducted in the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2007 and currently is striving to achieve even more.
 
Keb Mo at present has a band of five exceptionally talented musicians. They include Michael Hicks, Vail Johnson,Les Falconer, Kevin So and Jeff Paris.
