KCRW'S World Festival is about to celebrate its thirteenth year with an inspired line-up of musicians from all over the world and this is an event that will surely be spectacular. The Los Angeles Philharmonic, along with the popular Los Angeles radio channel, KCRW 89.9 FM are now bringing you one of the most celebrated series of concerts in the United States from a beautiful hillside theater. What makes this event special is its versatility is music genres as it features music from all over the globe, creating a unique kind of energy that leaves the audience mesmerized. The festival will take place at the beautiful Hollywood Bowl, which has been home to several such events over the course of its existence. The event kicks off this June and tickets are selling out fast!
 
This one of a kind series of shows encompasses six Sundays, beginning in June and ending in September. The festival highlights rising stars as well as established commercial musicians from diverse backgrounds and showcases sounds from all parts of the world. Its thirteenth season this year will feature a line up of various different singing sensations. On its first day, the festival will present performances by a gathering of the biggest names in the Japanese music industry, spanning generations and genres at the show. Some of the Japanese artists that will be performing include stars such as Taiko Center of Los Angeles, Fujima Kansuma Kai, Towa Tei, Buffalo Daughter, Cibo Matto, Yellow Magic Orchestra and the show will be hosted by none other than the famous Eric J. Lawrence. Some other festivities that can be expected before the beginning of the show include Taiko drumming demonstration, Kabuki dance costume and make-up display, Karate demonstration, Kimono display, Origami folding and folk storytelling and Sake tasting.
 
The second Sunday of the KCRW'S World Festival will feature one of the most popular musicians in the Indian music industry, A. R Rahman. He has been nominated for the Oscars five times and has managed to sell more than a hundred million records worldwide, comprising of music from over fifty movies. He is widely believed to be India's most successful and prolific music composer. Now, this music maestro is coming to perform his great music at the KCRW'S World Festival, backed by the Los Angeles Philharmonic, for an evening full of immense entertainment. Some special guests will also be performing that evening, including Sher Foundation, Bollywood Step Dance, Rhythms of Rajasthan and Karsh Kale. The show's host will be Tom Schnabel.
 
The next show of the festival will be loaded with beautiful soul music from all over the world, featuring celebrities such as The Soul Seekers, Bombino, Mia Doi Todd, Ceci Bastida, Sharon Jones, Rocky Dawuni, Grace Potter, Janelle Monae, Stevie Wonder and several more as well. On the next Sunday, Reggae Night will be celebrated, featuring several artists such as Ras Michael, Mighty Diamonds, Toots Hibbert, Judy Mowatt, Marcia Griffiths, and Rita Marley. Hosted by Jeremy Sole, this will be a night full of enchanting music and great entertainment.
 
The mystic and provocative music of the famous French musician, Serge Gainsbourg will be brought to life during KCRW's Festival. The tribute to his music will be presented by the full orchestra and the special guests of the evening, such as Nike Roza Danilova, Mike Patton, China Forbes, Sean Lennon and Charlotte Kemp Muhl, Victoria Legrand and various more as well. The last and final night of the festival will be hosted by Jason Bentley. The event will present an evening filled with poetic and powerful rock music, as three popular musicians bring out the collective resolve and spirit of the country under the summer stars. Sharon Van Etten, Neko Case and The National will be performing on this night, beautifully ending the exotic series of concerts.
