Two iconic bands that helped define the “San Francisco Sound” have teamed up for a summer tour. Journey and The Doobie Brothers are all set to bring their San Francisco Fest 2016 tour to Riverbend Music Center on July 29. The bass player Ross Valory, lead vocalist Arnel Pineda and drummer Steve Smith take the crowd on a journey into the depths of three decades of music and from the start till the end it’s a rock music marathon.

Despite touring for such a long time, Neal Schon of Journey stated in a recent interview that every new trek brings with it fresh excitement and thrill. Representing multiple eras, the band can’t wait to perform live in front of a crowd that spans three generations. Journey is delivering a lot of thunder in their recent concerts and Cincinnati event is expected to be no less. Their performance features the live rendition of hit tracks such as “Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)”, “Any Way You Want It”, “Who’s Crying Now”, “Only the Young” and “Open Arms”. The ballad “Faithfully” receives a lot of cheers and starts slow dancing in the aisles and on the floor. The power-rock arena anthem “Don’t Stop Believin`” brings the crowd to its feet and the sing-along is uproarious, especially when confetti falls from the roof. In between the songs the band also treats the fans to impromptu jamming which creates a breathtaking spectacle.
