Born on the 27th February of 1981 in Los Angeles, Joshua Winslow "Josh" Groban is an American, singer, songwriter, actor and record producer. His vocals are inspired by many greats, such as Freddie Mercury, Bjork, Sting, Peter Gabriel and Paul Simon just to name a few. His career in music began when his audition tape for All I Ask of You from The Phantom of the Opera, was given to music producer, composer and arranger David Foster. The tape was submitted by Josh Groban’s vocal coach Seth Riggs, who is friends with David Foster. This changed Josh’s life, as David Foster later on called him in to fill in for an ailing Andrea Bocelli, who was set to perform a duet, The Prayer with Celine Dion at the 1998 Grammy Awards. Josh Groban, took Andrea Bocelli’s spot and rehearsed the duet with Celine Dion. He was then asked by Foster to sing at the inauguration of the then Governor of California, Gray Davis in 1999. He was even cast on the show Ally McBeal. He performed the song, You’re Still You at the season finale in 2001. So if you are interested in watching this multi talented artist live, don’t miss your chance to see him in Pittsburgh.
