John William Oates is a 67-year old musician, songwriter and singer. He made his way into the music scene in 1966 when he recorded the single, ‘I Need Your Love’ produced by Crimson Records. A year later, John met with Daryl Hall and the two decided to form an ensemble together. With this ‘Hall & Oates’ was formed.
From Solo Career to Hall & Oates
Hall & Oates rose to fame in 1972 when the group was taken on by Atlantic Records. Since then John Oates and Daryl Hall have released 21 studio albums that have gone on to sell 13 million copies worldwide. This makes the duo, the most commercially successful duo in rock-pop history. If all this wasn’t enough, Hall & Oates, have 34 songs that have made their way to the Billboard Hot 100.
