Over the years John Hiatt has been nominated for eleven Grammy awards and has won other awards in various music categories. His nominations also included Best Contemporary Folk Album in 2001 for the Grammy Awards for the album Crossing Muddy Waters, Rock Male Vocalist and Best Rock Song for the song ‘Have a Little Faith in Me Lyrics’ and ‘Cry Love’ in 1999 and 1997. John Hiatt also was nominated for Best Country and Western Song in 1990 at the Grammy Awards. In 2000, he was named songwriter/artist of the year at the Nashville Music Awards. He was also fortunate to be awarded Americana Music Association: Lifetime Achievement Award for Songwriting in 2008.
