Bonamassa is one of the greatest guitarists alive. Born in 1977 in New Hartford, he belongs to a musical family and was interested in playing guitar since the age of four. This was when he first saw Stevie Ray Vaughan who along with Jimi Hendrix is one of Bonamassa’s favorites. Unlike his grandfather and great-grandfather, he chose guitar and could copy the guitar riffs of any musician. By the time he was twelve, he had honed his skills enough that he opened for B.B. King. He has been part of a number of bands including Bloodline, Rock Candy Funky Party and Black Country Communion and has shared stage with many iconic singers like Eric Clapton, Jason Bonham and Vince Gill.
He has released ten studio albums out of which seven have peaked at number one on the US Blues chart. He collaborated with Beth Hart on two albums, “Don’t Explain” in 2011 and “Seesaw” in 2013. He has also released six live album and three video albums in his career spanning 23 years. Bonamassa tours extensively and does around 200 shows in a year.
