Born in Brooklyn, New York James Fallon had a keen interest in acting and entertaining since a very young age. As a child he would re enact parts of "Saturday Night Live" that his parents would tape for him. His love for the show increased so much that he would even watch it in the dormitory of his college. While still a teenager, he impressed his parents and peers with impersonations of James Cagney. James Fallon was also interested in music and started playing the guitar when he was 13. By the encouragement of his parents, he participated in numerous comedy contests and music shows which laid a foundation for his future career. Perhaps the biggest breakthrough in his career came right after his graduation when he participated in the "Bananas Comedy Club" contest.
