Jim Belushi Cities

Born in Chicago in 1954, Jim Belushi spent his early childhood in Wheaton. He was one of the four children born to Adam Belushi, an Albanian immigrant who left his village, Quteze, in 1934. His elder brother, John Belushi was the renowned comic actor who was best known for his raunchy humor and brash comedy. Belushi attended the Wheaton Central High School and then got admission in the College of DuPage. After completing college, Belushi got enrolled in the Speech and Theater Arts degree at the Southern Illinois University Carbondale.

It was during Belushi’s high school years that he first showed his talent for acting and improvisational skills in a school play and later became a member of drama club. After graduating, he started his acting career as resident member of The Second City, the famed theatre group of Chicago. He remained with the group from 1976 to 1980. In 1979, he caught the attention of Garry Marshall who saw his performance with The Second City. Belushi was later offered to come to Hollywood where he co-starred in "Who’s Watching the Kids," making his television debut.

He also played different roles in "The Fury," "Working Stiffs" "Trading Places" and "Thief." In 1983, after the death of John Belushi, he appeared on Saturday Night Live and remained with its cast for the next two years. Some of the famous characters portrayed by Belushi at the Saturday Night Live include "That White Guy" and "Hank Rippy." He also made a guest appearance in the third episode of Pinocchio at the Faerie Tale Theatre.  People who  saw his brilliant performance at either in a film or on television have loved him.

It was in 1985 that Belushi fame rose to the national level when he starred in "About Last Night," Edward Zwick’s famous film along with Demi Moore and Rob Lowe.  He also played supporting roles in "Salvador," "The Man with One Red Shoe" and "Little Shop of Horrors." The real success as an actor and an entertainer came when he did some major roles in films like "K-9," "Red Heat," "Real Men," "Mr. Destiny," "Taking Care of Business," "Homer and Eddie," "Curly Sue," "Angel’s Dance," "Retroactive," "Separate Lives," "Race the Sun" and many more.

Over the period of next few years, his popularity as a film and television actor grew even more. In 2000, he co-starred in Bonnie Hunt’s "Return to Me" with Minnie Driver and David Duchovny. He also received critical response for his work in "Who Killed Atlanta’s Children?" Jim Belushi has also lent his voice for "The Pebble and the Penguin," "The Mighty Ducks," "Hey Arnold!," "Babes in Toyland," "The Wild," "Hoodwinked" and "Scooby-Doo and the Goblin King." Some of the games where he portrayed different characters include "The Last Resort" and "Goosebumps."

Apart from acting, Belushi performs regularly with The Sacred Hearts and also co-released "Have Love, Will Travel" in 2003 with Dan Aykroyd with whom he founded the R&B band, The Blues Brother in 1978. With the Blues Brother, he performs nationwide at a number of venues as Zee Blues. With Jim Belushi tickets, you can reserve tour seats for any of his live concerts in your city. Although more famous for his comedic skills as an entertainer, Jim Belushi is a truly gifted musician and it would be a delightful experience to watch him perform live.
