Jethro Tull Tickets
Jethro Tull has successfully completed four decades of incredible rock music with its signature style of music, majorly characterized by the sound of flute and the thrilling guitar riffs of Martin Barre. The band is among the few in the industry with a dedicated duo, Ian Anderson and Martin Barre consistently pursuing their musical career with Jethro Tull since its inception. The former being the founder responsibly brought together the best talent in the music industry for playing the instruments with precision, while the latter contributed to its incredible sound with his guitar strumming abilities.

The band stepped into the industry with blues music but later diversified by incorporating the elements of folk, classical and art rock genres. Today it has sold approximately 60 million records worldwide and stands as the Best Hard Rock Metal Band as acclaimed by the ‘National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences’.
Jethro Tull traces its origins back in the early sixties when Ian Anderson as a young art student formed his own band ‘The Blades’. After a couple of years, by adding some additional members, the name was changed to ‘The John Evan Band’. It continued playing with the same name till it relocated to London in the late sixties. The presence of lucrative opportunities for the upcoming artists to perform gigs gave them a chance to prove their talent. The band with slight changes in its list of members changed its name in every performance until finally it toured the local Circuit Club. This performance was made by the name Jethro Tull, the name which has made history because of its phenomenal hard rock music, fusing in the elements of other genres, appealing to masses across the globe.
Jethro Tull came up with its first album ‘This Was’ in the late sixties. The music defined its Blues style with a tinge of Jazz. The band struggling to define a style of its own, released its second album ‘Stand Up’ which branched out further from the blues and rearranged the conventional jazz tunes. The album was a major hit. It happened to be the number one album in UK. The unprecedented success continued for years, resulting in a release of 30 studio and live albums to date.
Over the years, the live performances of the band have added immensely to its fame. It was known as ‘One of the Largest Concert Draws in the World’ for its brilliantly performed concerts. Unlike others, the fame wasn’t solely accredited to the music but it was the stage theatrics that distinguished the band from the other artists of the industry. Ian Anderson has always appeared with a messy look. The artist has maintained his outlook, dressed up in ragged clothes with bushy hair and beard, since the start. The band didn’t appear proper at all, but was known for its casual look.
Jethro Tull introduced flute to rock music. So far, there hasn’t been any band in the music industry that has successfully challenged the band with a better fusion of classical and rock with flute as the major instrument.
The band has conducted approximately 2500 concerts in 40 countries in its decades’ long career. It entertains millions of audiences across the globe by playing 100 concerts every year. The ethnic flutes and whistles in combination with the acoustic guitar sound enthrall the audiences and getting them to groove along the tunes.
Jethro Tull is ready to conduct a North American Tour this year in celebration of its all time hit album Aqualung’s 40th anniversary. The concert will not only revive good memories of this album’s launch but will also entertain the audiences with other major hits produced by the band in its career as well.
