His next album was titled Fluxedo and it came out three years after its predecessor. Jerry followed that up with Under the Wire in 1986. In 1987, two of his recordings Changing Channels and Everything Is Gonna Work Out Fine hit the music stores.

In 1990's, Jerry became a member of the Alison Krauss and Union Station. That collaboration took his reputation to a whole new level. It all started off when they joined hands to work on Forget About It. Legends like Ray Charles have turned to him which just goes to show how highly he is thought off by people who know music inside out.

As a solo artist and as member of the Jerry Douglas Band, he has come up with over a staggering fifteen hundred recordings till yet.
