Isabel Pantoja: A new Latin star is born
Isabel Pantoja was born to a father who was a flamenco singer and a mother who was a dancer. In her childhood years, she was strongly encouraged by her parents to partake in creative arts. She did just that and soon made her mind to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. At first, Isabel decided to become a professional dancer and even joined a dance group but then she started to consider the option of becoming a singer. Fueled by a burning desire to make it in the music industry, she took a flight to Madrid to meet Juan Solano Pedrero. He was so impressed with her talents that Juan immediately decided to help her in achieving her dreams.
In 1974, Isabel’s debut studio album, ‘Fue por tu voz’ was released. This record was heavily inspired by elements of copla and flamenco. The album consisted of ten well crafted songs including, Tene compasión de mi, El pájaro verde and Las gitanas infantas. After that, she went on to record more hits and completed the decade by releasing albums like ‘Que dile y dile,’ ‘Al Alimón,’ ‘22 abriles tengo’ and ‘Niña Isabela.’
