To witness the wonders of American rock/reggae music live with a boy band that spells sheer fun, meet Iration, a young reggae/rock band hailing from Isla Vista, California. The members originally belong to Hawaii where they actually grew up together. The band was later formed after their reunion in Santa Barbara in 2006. Currently the band’s lineup has five members; Adam Taylor the bassist, Cayson Peterson the keyboardist, Joseph Dickens the drummer, Joseph King the engineer and Micah Pueschel the vocalist and guitarist. Since the band started making music it has remained focused on the theme 'Love' which is predominant in all of its songs. The band released its first EP 'New Roots' in 2006 which it later performed live capturing the attention of a wide range and a large number of audience. The EP was highly commended by the critics as well. Following this short moment of fame, the band released its full length album No Time for Rest. The single 'Cookie Jar' featured on the album became a No.1 in Hawaii on the radio station 93.9 DaBeat the very next year.
In 2008, Iration released its second EP Sample This EP, tagged by iTunes as No.3 Top selling reggae album all over the world. This followed the release of their second full length album Time Bomb in 2010. The album was a commercial success selling more than 36000 copies while earning No.1 ranking on the iTunes reggae album. The album was also among the Top 20 Reggae albums on Billboard. The success of the album came primarily through the hit trio featuring 'Falling', 'Time Bomb' and 'Turn Around'.
The last EP Fresh Grounds reached No.1 on Billboard Heatseeker's chart . It made it to the Top 200 charts, with the single 'Summer Nights' that ranked as No.2 on iTunes Reggae singles charts. The album’s style of music was rather different from the general offering of the band which included music as a combination of rock, reggae and pop. The additional instrumentation produced by Lincoln Parish and JP Hesse gave this album more dimension and depth that was greatly applauded by critics and fans alike.
Following these releases and critical acclaims, the band went through tours from 2008 onwards throughout the country where various shows of the band went sold out. Moreover, the band performed in numerous festivals from the famous Lollapalooza to the Sierra Nevada World Music Festival, the Sunset Strip Music Festival and the Wakarusa.
The band’s third EP Fresh Grounds came out in 2011 that paved way for the 2012 release of a record Porcupine. This was done in collaboration with Lincoln Parish, guitarist of the famed Cage the Elephants and was promoted by visiting radio stations across the country.
The band’s latest studio release Automatic was released recently in July 2013. This album is reviewed as a personification of their music completely. This album revolves around Loves of all kinds makes a bolder statement with its edge cutting music. The band has sold thousands of this album already and have reached over a quarter million downloads, making Iration one of the fastest rising reggae bands in the country. Considering this successful journey the band is bound to stir waves anytime soon. It is a promising bunch of talent that has a long way to go.
In the summer of 2013 Iration toured nationwide to promote Automatic live on tour. Iration tickets led fans to experience attractions from this album along with hits from the past. Iration Announce Intergalactic Tour
Reggae group from Santa Barbara, Iration recently announced another US tour to promote their new music album ‘Double Up.’ The Intergalactic Tour will have the group visit 17 cities. These include Nashville, Phoenix and Washington DC. Joining the reggae troops on the road on select dates will be special guests Through the Roots, Katastro, Inner Circle and Fortunate Youth.
The record ‘Double Up’ was released via Three Prong Record in December 2016. It follows up the album ‘Hotting Up’ which came out in 2015 and topped the Billboard’s Reggae chart.
