Born in Staten Island in the year 1979 Ingrid Michaelson complete name is Ingrid Ellen Egbert Michaelson. She was born in an artistic family as her mother is a fine sculptor artist while her father is a seasoned composer. She had been pretty active in musical as well as comedy theater but eventually she took up music as a profession. She is primarily a lyricist and singer but is quite fluent at playing instruments like ukulele, piano and guitar. Ingrid Michaelson came into the music industry in the year 2002 and since then she continues to delight the critics as well as her critics from the immense potential that she possess. Michaelson debut album was a self-released effort called Slow the Rain that came out in the year 2005. The album failed to get the attention of audience and didn’t hit the charts. Michaelson gained recognition with the release of her second studio album called Girls and Boys in the year 2006. Released by Cabin 24 Records the album was applauded by fans and managed to land at #1 on US Top Heatseekers charts, 36 on US Indie charts, #63 on Billboard and #100 on German charts. Be Ok was the third album by her that went on sale in music stores in 2008, this album showed a much improved chart position as it was at #2 on US Indie, #13 on US Top Rock and #35 Billboard. Everybody was the fourth album came out in 2009 and again showed a considerable improvement on charts racing to the #7 slot on US Top Rock and #18 on US Billboard. The latest album till date by Ingrid Michaelson was released in early 2012 and it was named Human Again, this album as of yet remains Michaelson highest charting album. Human Again was her first album that charted at #22 in Canada, it was also #1 on US Indie charts and last but not the least #2 and #5 on Top Rock and Billboard respectively. Some of the singles of Ingrid Michaelson has been used in a number of popular TV series like The House Bunny, Grey’s Anatomy, pretty Little Liars and Body of Proof. Popular choreographer Travis Wall for an episode of So You Think you Can Dance used one of the duet songs of Michaelson for his dance performance, the name of the single was Turn To Stone.
