Formed in 2013, in Southfield, Michigan, I Prevail is an American rock band that gained popularity by posting a cover of Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” to YouTube in December, 2014. This cover got them noticed by a lot of Taylor Swift fans along with many critics, who praised their unique rendition. The current band members include Brian Burkheiser on clean vocals, Richard “Eric” Vanlerberghe on unclean vocals, Steve Menoian on lead guitar and studio bass and Dylan Bowman on rhythm guitar. About I Prevail
Formed in late 2013, the band started work on its debut EP. On the 1st of December 2014, the band posted their cover of the famous Taylor Swift song, “Blank Space” on YouTube. The cover song ended up peaking at number 90 on the Billboard Hot 100 and at the 23rd spot on the US Mainstream Rock Songs chart. Up till April 2017, the song had crossed more than 30 million views on YouTube.
On 10th December 2014, the young band released the first two singles from its debut EP – “Love, Lust and Liars” and “The Enemy”. The debut EP itself was released on 26th January, 2015. It was called Heart vs. Mind. Soon after the release of this EP, on 12th March, 2015, rhythm guitarist Jordan Berger parted ways with the band due to some of his other commitments. Following this change, the band added certain members to its touring lineup. Tony Camposeo on bass and Dylan Bowman on rhythm guitar soon became permanent members of the band.
After the release of their debut EP, the band embarked on the Heart Vs. Mind Tour and the Massive Addictive Tour. In June of 2015, the band announced a summer tour called The Crossroads. In the fall of 2015, the band played at various venues, opening for acts such as Crown the Empire and Hollywood Undead.
In May of 2016, the group announced that they would be headlining a tour called Strike the Match Tour with guests such as Bad Seed Rising, My Enemies and I and The White Noise. In addition to that, the band also released a 30-second long sound clip on social media, that contained instrumentals from their upcoming album.
The debut album of the band was called Lifelines. In was announced on 20th June, 2016, and the release date was set for October 20th of the same year. The first single from the album was released on 1st July, 2016. It was called “Scars” and managed to gain quite a bit of attention in different musical spheres.
The second single from this album, called “Stuck in Your Head” was released on 14th August followed by “Come and Get It” on September 28th.
The single “Scars” ranked at number 39 on the US Rock Chart. “Stuck in Your Head” peaked at number 40 on the US Rock Chart and at number 36 on the US Main chart. The 2016 single “Alone” also did well on the charts, peaking at number 47 on the US Rock Chart.
I Prevail 2017
Fall 2017 will see I Prevail make its way to different cities across the US to perform for its fans. The first show will be on 20th September alongside other artists such as The Word Alive, We Came As Romans and Escape The Fate. The performance will take place at the Diamond Ballroom in Oklahoma City. This will be followed by another performance in Omaha, and then in Billings, Portland, Spokane and in Boise. Other cities that the band will be performing at include Seattle, Calgary, Edmonton, Saint Paul, Chicago, Milwaukee, Cleveland, Toronto, Niagara Falls, NY, Montreal, Sayreville, Worcester, Hartford, Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York, Norfolk, Stroudsburg, Nashville, Atlanta, Charlotte, Orlando, Tampa, Houston, Dallas, El Paso, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas, San Diego, Tempe, Salt Lake City, Kansas City, Detroit, Fort Wayne, Grand Rapids, Pittsburgh, Columbus, Wichita and Clive.
