Formed in 2001, Hinder is an Oklahoma based hard rock band that was inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame in 2007. The band sets the stage on fire with its supersonic energy and incredibly forceful heavy metal performance. It is known for sending several scouts into the crowd to give away VIP passes to all the gorgeous women out there. All in all, the Hinder concert is a steaming and thrilling concert experience that you cannot afford to miss.
The Hinder band was formed by the drummer Cody Hanson, guitarist Joe Garvey and singer Austin Winkler who collectively invited Mark King and Mike Rodden to join the band. Before the band came into being, Austin Winkler used to sing as a member of an Oklahoma City cover band until July 2001. After meeting drummer Cody Hanson and guitarist Joe Garvey at a college party, the musicians formed the Hinder band. Playing at the local Oklahoma City club, The Blue Note, the band earned a loyal fan base at the venue. Soon, the musicians began to earn enough profits to pay for their advertising expenses as well as the expenditures related to the release of their first EP, Far From Close. Released through the Brickden Records in 2003, the band sold over five thousand copies of the EP.
Since its inception, the Hinder band has released four studio albums including the Extreme Behavior, Take It to the Limit, All American Nightmare and Welcome to the Freakshow. In 2005, the band signed a recording deal with the Universal Records and released its debut album titled Extreme Behavior. Although the album opened to negative reviews but it reached a triple platinum status in September 2006. The album has debuted at number six on the Billboard 200 chart and number two on the Billboard Top Rock Albums chart. Some of the successful singles of the album include Get Stoned, Lips of an Angel, How Long, Better Than Me and Homecoming Queen. Along with the drummer, Cody Hanson, Winkler generally writes majority of the songs for the band.
In November 2008, the band released its second studio album, Take It to the Limit that has all the elements of hard rock but also has a touch of heavy glam metal. Recorded by Jay Van Poederooyen and produced by Brian Howes, the album has received a gold certification by the RIAA. The lyrical themes of this album are similar to the rap albums while the sound is similar to the glam metal bands of 1980's. The brilliant album has peaked at number four on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart, number three on the U.S. Billboard Top Rock Albums chart and number two on the U.S. Billboard Top Hard Rock Albums chart. The album has peaked not just at the US rock album charts but also the Australian and Canadian album charts. Some of the delightful singles of the album include Use Me, Loaded and Alone, Up All Night and Without You among others.
In December 2010, the band released its third studio album, All American Nightmare that has topped the U.S. Billboard Alternative Albums chart and debuted at number thirty seven on the Billboard 200 chart. The Hard Rock Haven claims that the album stands out among all the other modern rock albums. The band’s latest studio album, Welcome to the Freakshow is released through the Republic Records in December 2012. The album has peaked at number three on the U.S. Billboard Hard Rock Albums chart and number eight on the U.S. Billboard Alternative Albums chart. Its debut single, Save Me, has been received quite enthusiastically by the music lovers. The Hellhound Music calls the song "an in-your-face performance of arena rock at its best.”
