The foundation of the Hillsong Church was laid back in 1978 when devoted Christians, Bobbie and Brian Houston relocated to Australia. The newlyweds became members of Sydney Christian Life Center’s ministry team and became involved in pioneering churches in the North Western region. During this time, the couple decided that there was a need to establish a contemporary church in Sydney, one that would cater to the needs of modern Christians. Hence, the Hillsong Church was established in 1983. Over the years its congregation has grown to a whopping number of forty five, making the Hillsong one of Australia’s biggest churches ever.

The album consists of twelve tracks for which vocals have been provided by Dan Barrett, Ashley John Baptiste, Jill Marie Cooper, Jenny Deacon, Katie, Dodson, Hannah Hobbs, Jorim Kelly, Ingrid Kennedy, Ana Loback, Nait Masuku and Esther Volstad, to name a few.

The songs on the album have been completed with the help of instruments like the electric and acoustic guitars, keyboards, bass, drums, percussion, trombone, French horn, violin and cello. Music direction for the album was provided by Chris Davenport, Gio Galanti, Autumn Hardman and Nigel Hendroff. Some of the albums most popular tracks include "Glorious Ruins", "Man of Sorrows", "Anchor", "Christ is Enough" and "You Crown the Year."

The records that are produced by Hillsong LIVE have achieved massive success in Australia. All of the twenty two albums released have been certified Gold in Australia. The 1994 release "People Just like Us" became the first Christian album to received platinum certification. Furthermore the 2004 album "For All You’ve Done" charted on the number one spot of the Australian Record Industry Association chart. Over the years, the Hillsong Music label has been able to garner several prestigious Gospel Music Awards and American Gospel Music Association Awards nominations and wins.
