Hayden Desser is a famed singer as well as a songwriter from Thornhill in Ontario in Canada. He records under the name of Hayden. A few of his early songs contain of a large diverse blend of various kinds of genres ranging from alternative country to grunge music. This fact can be seen established in the debut full length album of his titled as Everything I Long For that came out in 1995. Ever since the release of his debut album his music has successfully been much more refined and polished. He received his Bachelor of Applied Arts in Radio and Television Arts degree in 1993 from the popular Ryerson Polytechnical Institute which is now known as the Ryerson University.

Born on the 12th of February in 1971, this 41 year old musician has gained an immense fan following for him. Apart from grunge and alternative music genres, his works also comprise of genres such as lo-fi, acoustic rock, indie folk as well as folk rock. He is also a record label owner. Other than being the lead vocalist for his band, he is also an acclaimed mellotron player, pianist, guitarist and harmonica player. He has actively been a part of the music industry since 1994 till the present day. The music recording label companies that he has been affiliated with are the Universal Music Canada Group, hardwood Records, Sonic Unyon Records, Arts & Crafts Records and the famous fat Possum Records.
Hayden is known as one of the finest live performers in the industry today. In 1996, two years after he began his career, he was seen performing on two consecutive nights at the Bridge School Concert of Neil Young’s which takes place every year. This performance of his was widely recognized and was mega hit. Then in 1998, he took an extensive tour in all of North America with a complete band in collaboration with The Closer I Get.
In 2001, when he had no deal with a record label company, he was seen as distributing nearly 100 hand-written, numbered and packaged copies of Skyscraper National Park to his close friends and also in some independent music recording stores all over in Toronto. This dedication that he had towards music paid off as he immediately proficiently printed out liner notes of nearly 1,500 hand-numbered copies. These copies of his were initially put up for sale at the live shows that he would perform at. The fame that he generated with these limited edition runs of his consequently ended up in a complete mainstream music release of a recording in 2001.
Three years on, in 2004 he effectively released his much awaited second album which was known as Elk Lake Serenade. Hayden went on to tour North America and performed live at shows all over the country with Cuff the Duke band hailing from Oshawa as his acting backup music group. In November 2007, he performed in three little pre-European tour which was more of "warm-up" events that took place in Quebec and Ontario. After nearly three years, these live shows of his were the acclaimed musician’s first music concerts in three years. By the 15th of January in 2008, he released another album called In Field & Town. His last album was released on the 26th of May in 2009 that was named The Place Where We Lived. At the end of 2012, it was announced to the media that he will be releasing his 7th studio recorded album on the record label company known as Arts & Crafts Records which is a Canadian indie company. He also performed 5 events in Europe in 2013. These events were known to be "warm-ups" to the performance that he will be giving at the prestigious All Tomorrow’s Parties Festival that has been designed by the band called The National.
