Based in Wilmington, George Thorogood is a blue rocks guitarist and vocalist. He is known the most for his song by the name ‘Bad to the Bone’ and his contributions to several blue standards’ covers such as ‘Move It On Over’ by Hank Williams, ‘One Bourn, One Scotch, One Bear’ by John Hooker, and ‘Why Do You Love’ by Bo Diddley.
Thorogood released his debut album in 1976 in collaboration with another band named the Destroyers. The album was titled George Thorogood & the Destroyers. The partnership with the band proved successful and they continued to produce music together. Their work gained recognition as George Thorogood & the Destroyers. Their second album was released the next year. They produced a total of 16 studio albums with the latest album released in 2011 by the name 2120 South Michigan Ave. Current members of George Thorogood & the Destroyers consist of George Thorogood at lead guitars and vocals, Jeff Simon at percussion and drums, Jim Suhler at rhythm guitar, Billy Blough at bass guitar, and Buddy Leach at piano and saxophone. The band had some members leave and some join in the due course of time. However, this is the current composition of the musical group.
